I find it troubling when I click on a thread ( I will not use a real example for fear of upsetting some) and the thread is like" Blah Blah Blah **OPEN**" But: There is like 20 posts in the thread, the characters are in deep conversation(whatever) and its impossible that this thread is really **OPEN**
So I have a suggestion. It needs an unanimous support..
There is a thread, (started by staff, derr) In the Character development section. What will happen is when someone has an TRULY open thread, they post its name && link giving a summary of what species and what plot they were thinking of. If you want to respond to that thread, pm the person or simply answer the thread. NO Comments that are like "ooh! off to tat thread I goooew!" No, no ,no ,no Thats annoying to those who are looking for a thread.
This is particuarly useful for new characters. Critisism? Ideas?
EDITT::
Yes, you would have to edit your post and put CLOSED next to the thread name. EX:
BLAH BLAH BLAH **OPEN** _CLOSED_ Plotline:........................ Species:................ _CLOSED_

An open thread list would be a good idea for players looking for a place to jump in. I have seen and used them on lots of forums including my own with one difference. It was the task of a moderator to delete posts which had been modified to "closed" status just to keep the thread from getting horribly long.

Okay, so I think it might be hard to keep up with a very detailed thread where people have to submit a little blurb about what their open thread is about. I'm totally down with the idea, I just don't know how many people would actually use it. HOWEVER, what if we had a little drop down menu on one of the side bars? I think this could also work, but either way I totally support this idea. It would make it FAR easier to find open threads to post in

I agree. Especially if you're like me, working on getting active again, so if somebody has an open thread you can just take it without scavenging for it. <33

Just putting my two cents in, I've never really had a problem finding an open thread, but on the occasions where I haven't found one I just found someone in the cbox and asked if they wanted to post or started my own open thread.
But I do like the idea of a drop down menu better than a thread for the open ones. Again just my two cents take it or leave it.
