Sample of Writing (2+ Paragraphs):
To a North Carolina teen, leaving a small town in the south and moving to a small town in the north was pure torture. Mason had been brought up believing that the South was the best part of the country, that the Civil War was just a way for the Yankees to say that the war hadn't been about all of what it was about, but was just a political and governmental disagreement that led to war. Well needless to say Mason wasn't happy about the move, but the wolf had no choice in the decision after his parents death.
When he had first arrived in LaPush he had found out soon enough that Beufort, North Carolina was far and away so different from the small Indian Reservation located not far from Forks, Washington. His grandfather had quickly realized that Mason needed somewhere that he could go that had some similarities to his hometown, that just so happened to be Crescent Lake in The Forks Forest. Mason had been sort of sketchy on the idea at first but soon he to realized it was the only similarity he would find between the two small towns.
That was why Mason found himself sitting with his arms on his knees staring out at the tanquil lake. It calmed him somehow, he didn't constantly feel the need to kill someone or to punch something as hard as he could. As he was sitting his sensative ears picked up the sound of footsteps approaching him. He turned his dark,wavy hair swaying around his eyes"Who's there?"he called
