Character's Name: Leighton Monroe Whyler
Gender: Female
Age: Seventeen
Category: Human
Character History:
Although a city girl at heart, Leighton was born and raised in the mountains of Anaconda, Montana. Leighton was raised as an only child, but obtained friends she considered siblings through all the daycares she attended. Leighton grew closer to her dad while growing up, since he had a decent hour job as a fourth-grade elementary school teacher while her mom was often gone since she’s a costume coordinator for the traveling Opera plays. This passion for fashion slightly rubbed off on Leighton, often drawing outfits in class in her drawing pad instead of paying attention. Leighton is an average student, but shines in the art department. Recently, Leighton had to leave her school and friends since her mom was told she would do better off financially the closer she was to California. Her mom and dad, however, still wanted to keep the peaceful atmosphere Montana and the mountains brought, so they decided to move to Forks, Washington instead. Leighton is still settling into her new place, adjusting to her new classes and trying to make friends.
Character Appearance:
Leighton has a small round face with a slightly pointed nose. Her brown wavy hair falls to her shoulder blades, which she often wears down with a hair band or accessory in it. On the slightly conservative side, she likes to keep her make mainly neutral. She has brown, almond shaped eyes and a slightly pouty mouth, which she likes to highlight with different shades of lipstick. She has a small, petite body and stands at the height of 5’5. Her skin tone has a slightly olive undertone. Leighton likes to wear pants, blouses, etc. She isn’t really into casual jean wear, but will wear it sometimes. She has a slight obsession with handbags, believing accessories are a girl’s best friend.
Strengths/Weaknesses: (At least 3 of each)
Leighton’s strengths are that she stands up for herself and she’s a dependable friend. She likes to help people out when she can, putting herself on the backburner if necessary. She is caring, but has learned to not let people walk on her like a doormat. She is modest about her artwork, and isn’t one to brag about being successful because she isn’t use to the feeling. Although she does average in school, she enjoys stimulating conversations and reading classic books. When it comes to the opposite sex, she drops subtle hints but isn’t the one who pursues.
One thing Leighton wants to work on is being more social and more involved. She has a somewhat reserved nature, rather wanting to stay in and draw then go out and drink a beer. She has a hard time deciding what’s right for her, often battling herself when it comes to her mind versus her heart. She can be a bit snide and defensive if you get on her wrong side. She can be a bit hard on herself, but tries to conceal that. She wants to try to keep an open-mind about things and people, but feels herself struggling to do so.
Personality: (At least 2 paragraphs. Includes hobbies and interests)
Leighton is friendly, but prefers a small crowd over a big crowd. Overall, she’s a conservative person, with her activities, the people she hangs with, etc. She struggles making connections with people, although that’s something she really cares about. She puts a lot of her frustration in art, often resorting to putting her feelings in her work than talking about it. Her parents have an average outcome, but she likes to shop when she has the chance. She plans on seeking a job soon.
Leighton strives to be less indecisive, and wants to stop knocking down her own dreams before she even tries to commit to them. Her dad is her role model, his caring and optimistic outlook something to look forward too when she gets home. When she’s bored, she likes to clean and organize around the house.

Sample of your RP-ing skills:
Leighton picked at the ruby apple with her manicured, coral-painted fingernails. She was sitting alone in the cafeteria at a small circular table near the corner, although she had been invited to go sit by Hollie J to sit with her and her friends. Leighton kindly declined, needing some time to think. A robot baby she was assigned to take care of in biology class, which she named Richard, was sitting on the table beside her in a portable baby basket. She eyed the baby, which was being quiet, for a moment before staring back down at her apple. What was going on with her? This project turned out to be a nightmare, but not in the way she was expecting when she was told she would be assigned with Zachary for the project. She was starting to see this side of him she didn’t want to acknowledge, a side that didn’t make him to be the jerk she assumed he was.
She sighed, thinking of the past weekend. She had a great time hanging out with this other guy named Robert on Friday night. He had taken her to Carvers to try out the vegetarian plates they had, and she found Robert intellectual, diverse, and interesting. Robert had treated her well and she had come home from the date to face the one guy she had been trying to avoid.
Zachary seemed to be everywhere lately and she wasn’t sure if it was just because of the project. When it would be her day with the baby, he would make sure he was still around. Unlike Robert, their conversation never went anywhere. It was mainly awkward, and filled with questions only revolving around the kid. Not that she wanted to get to know him, but why did he have to make everything so complicated? And why was she sitting here alone at lunch thinking of him and not the guy she had a great time with on Friday night?
She heard the bell ring, and looked at her untouched apple- the only thing she had bought at lunch. Giving it a careless toss in the trashcan, she let out a sigh as she grabbed the baby basket. Off to biology where her lab partner, aka Zachary, awaited for her. What would happen today? Probably nothing. She still had five more days with Zachary as her partner, and then the project would be over. What would happen with Zachary then? She didn’t know. All she knew was that today’s topic for Biology would be Survival of the Fittest as she walked into the class and glanced at the board.
