Randy tossed and turned in his bed. He was trying to nap, but it wasn't working. He finally gave up and lay there shirtless, wearing only boxers. He could hear his Ma watching one of her programs. She wasn't doing too well. Randy was brought out of his thoughts when the doorbell rang. Maxi, his black lab started to growl from her little basket next to his bed. She was just a pup, but she acted like she was as big as a Dane and as ferocious as a pit bull. "Hush, baby." he smiled and rubbed her small head with his big hand as he got out of bed. He walked to the front door and opened it. His mother's helper girl was standing at the door, bundled up. Her nose was red, and her jaw was clenched to keep from chattering her teeth.
"Afternoon, Ms. Lehi. You look cold, but lovely as always." he greeted with a smile, his accent thick. She greeted him back and walked to his Ma's room to do her job. Randy trusted her, she looked trustworthy and she was nice. So he allowed her to come and help out his mother. Randy walked back to his room. Maxi was pawing at the edge of his bed. Randy picked her up under her chest with one big hand and set her on the bed. "Maxi girl, you pee on my bed, I'm going to be an angry Randy, got me?" he rubbed her head again. Then he decided to go see his lovely pregnant girlfriend. He walked to his closet, and pulled down a button-up shirt, and put it on, leaving a few of the top buttons open, giving anyone a very nice view of his very well toned chest. He grabbed a pair of jeans, and slipped on his boots, grabbing his hat. His 'style' didn't fit in here in Forks, but he'd rather be comfortable and cold, than uncomfotable and warm.
He picked Maxi up under her chest again. She went most places with him, she was very well behaved. He hoped Jamie was okay with Maxi. Of course, she'd be a big dog, very soon, but Randy was teaching her well. Randy grabbed his keys, wallet and phone and walked out of his room. He walked to his mother's room and knocked, and was granted entry. She didn't look well, but she really never did. "Ms. Lehi, Ma, I'm gonna go for a little while, okay? I've got my cell, and I'm taking Maxi."
"Where are you going, dearest?" his mother croaked out. Randy did feel a little bad about leaving her, but he knew that she wanted him to meet someone." I'm going to Jamie's, Ma. My girlfriend. Remember, I told you about her?" Ma nodded and smiled. "I'll tell her you say hi, and I'll bring her by soon." She nodded again, and he turned and walked out, closing the door softly.
Randy walked down the stairs and oout the door. It wasn't a long drive to her apartment. Randy opened his side and set Maxi in his seat. She walked across and put her paws on the passenger side window. Randy got in, started his baby with a rumble and backed out. He made a snap decision and stopped by the flower place in town and bought her some flowers. Daisys, he thought. THEN, and only then, was he on his way to her place. All the way, Maxi sniffed the flowers. She was a weird creature.
Randy arrvied shortly, parking and getting out, carrying the flowers in one hand, and Maxi under his arm. He glanced at the numbers, looking for Jamie's. Thankfully, he found it quickly and walked up to the door. He knocked, and hollered through the door, "I'm just gonna come in so you don't have to get up." He opened the door, hoping she was decent.
