He couldn’t find a job anywhere and was ready to give up when he saw a poster for fighting. He could win $50 American if he won a fight with a professional boxer. He signed up, fought and won. He sent the money back home and took to signing up for boxing contests. He was good at it; he was one of the best. 3 months after sending his money home to his wife and parents, his money came back with a letter from a family friend, telling him they were all gone. Jude was devastated. He decided he didn't want to live so he challenged another boxer who was known for his brutal ferocity. If you were not good, you could get killed boxing this man. When the contest began, he didn't fight back. He let the man pummel him brutally. When he finally went down, he was dying from the internal damage the boxer had done. He was taken to a bed where he demanded to be left to die. Everyone left but another man came. He was a fair man. More fair than any other man Jude had ever seen. The man informed him that he had been watching him for awhile and he was his favorite boxer. Jude didn't care, he told the man to leave him and let him die. But the man refused to leave until Jude told him why. Once he did the man refused to grant his wish and let him die. He gathered Jude up in the dead of night and carried him to his home where he turned him into a vampire. His reason was that Jude had too much potential and passion to just throw it all away. And he wanted a companion. So Jude became a vampire, after a while he got over his depression about his family and began to live again. After 100 years he moved out on his own, to find himself. It has been 163 years now. Jude has decided to find a place to live where he doesn’t have to be indoors in the daytime so much. He looked it up online and found out that the area around Forks, Washington was his best bet. So, he moved there.
Character Appearance: Jude has black hair and pale skin. It wasn't much of a change from when he was human actually, he has always been pale. His eyes are golden because he feeds only from animals. He has soft round cheeks supported by a strong jaw. His face is almost cherub like. His eyes are soft and soulful. He is 6’2” tall and athletically built. He has a charming smile that causes his eyes to soften and light up when he laughs. His hair is thick soft, curling just slightly against his head. He is a very handsome man. He wears black suits and thin ties like something out of the 50’s and he makes the look work very well. He rarely has the tie tightened around his collar, preferring to wear it slightly loose.
Strengths/Weaknesses: Jude’s strengths are his compassion and care for others around him. He is loyal and trust worthy. If someone is depending on him for something, they can depend on him to come through for them. He never lies, even if it might be painful because he feels that a small hurt now from the truth is better than a big hurt from a mountain of lies. His weaknesses are his shyness and limited social skills. He doesn’t approach other people for social interaction; he waits for them to approach him. Being a vampire makes his limitation even more complicated.
Personality: Jude enjoys boxing, although now he can only do it with other vampires, and he doesn’t really know any. He also found that he can sing. This has helped him in instances when he needed money. He is good enough as singing to get jobs working in clubs as a singer or to get a street performers license and getting tips from singing on street corners.
He is shy but pleasant and happy most of the time. He was given a second chance in life. As much as he hates being a monster, he is glad he is able to control his thirst and still live among humans. As long as he stays away from hospitals and other place he might find bleeding people. Even then he has the fortitude to get out of there, rather than succumbing to it.
Jude is a pleasant man and people tend to like him quickly. Not because he is a vampire either. People liked him before then. He has always been an amiable fellow. Being a vampire just enhances that likability. Jude is not quick to laugh but when he does, it is infectious.
How is your character related to the story? Jude lives in the Twilight Universe. He is a nomad because he travels alone and is not part of any coven. Even if he would like to be, he is not. He is a vegetarian vampire. He has just moved to Forks, Washington and has joined the community there.
Sample of your RP-ing skills: Jude pulled up to the petrol station to fill his gas tank. He was surprised the black Ford Explorer LE made it into town. Sure he could have run into town but how would he carry all his things? He ran his hand through his thick black wavy hair that curled naturally around his ear, and looked around. It was a small town. Everyone seemed to know each other. He noticed how people smiled and waved as they passed by each other. It made him smile. He went around to his vehicle to fill his tank and looked over the top of his SUV to watch the people some more. He wondered how he would be received in this town. Were they stranger weary? Or were they welcoming and kind?
As he watched the cars go by, he was waved at three times by passersby who made eye contact with them. He blushed, smiled and waved back. It seemed like they were warm and welcoming. At least that’s what he thought until he caught the smell of wet dogs. He wrinkled his nose and looked for the source. He looked up to see a truck full of young Native Americans who were glaring at him like they hated him. They were driving by slow as if they all wanted a look at him. Their glare was enough for him to furrow his brow and take a step back. They suddenly drove off very fast. He stood there stunned for a moment. So there were both types here. He would just have to avoid those who had taken an instant disliking to him.
He finished filling his tank and went into the station to pay and get directions to the nearest motel from a very animated girl who kept giggling. He found this to be amusing and every time he smiled, she giggled again. He decided the better leave before she passed out from laughter asphyxiation. It wasn't far to the motel. It wasn’t far to anywhere in his little town. The quaint little motel seemed quiet enough. If he had privacy issues he would have to find another place fast. As it was, he was going to look for a nice little house. As he checked in to the motel, he noticed more friendly people who welcomed him to the town and shook his hand. He was happy he was being so well received after the bad feeling he got from the young men who smelled like wet dogs. But as he put the key into the lock on his door, he smelled it again. He looked up to see the truck again, driving by slowly. He tilted his head to the side, wondering why they had followed him. Once again they drove away quickly when he looked at them. It wasn’t like they were afraid of him; it was as if they didn't like him looking at them, like it disgusted them. He shrugged and went inside his room. The place that would serve as his home for awhile; that is if nothing went wrong.
