Scarlet grew up in California. It's been a tough past few years though. Her father left her and her mother for some young woman in New York, and since he was the money maker, they have nothing. Scarlet and her mother have decided to move in with relatives in Forks. Scarlet's only hope at escaping seems to be either marriage or a brilliant job.
Character Appearance:
Scarlet has skin that is white as snow, but her cheek bones are a very like russet color you have to see to believe. Her hair is fiery red and in wavy curls just above her shoulder blades. She has big green eyes and a curvy silhouette.

Personality:
Scarlet is a pistol. There is no denying that at all. She has a fiery temper and when irritated a sharp tongue. Scarlet is very beautiful and she knows this... but hates it. She can never tell when someone really loves her... or when they are pretending. She is wounded due to a past relationship. A boy she knew and loved deeply was in a car accident with her... and he died. Also, her father was abusive. She and her mother were hit many times.
Scarlet reads often and draws a little but that's it. She can be very smart and feels like there's no hope for her to free. Scarlet feels as if she will be stuck pleasing everyone the rest of her life, with know way to be free and independent. She's looking to be swept up by someone... anyone.
How is your character related to the story? Since Scarlet's father left she and her mother cannot afford the rent on their penthouse. Due to this matter they are moving in with Scarlet's aunt in Forks.

Scarlet sat in the passenger seat gazing out the window, her green eyes watching every tree as it passed. She wasn't looking forward to being poor, not while she felt so trapped at least. Her mother had told her time and time again that all she had to do was either marry someone rich or get a good job. That was easier said than done really. College had never really been a part of Scarlet's plan but she was at a point where if she didn't go... then her mother would be unhappy.
Scarlet shut her eyes and envisioned herself with Trevor. Sitting in his jeep with his hand touching hers. His face was still engraved on the inside of her eyelids. She needed someone to fill that huge hole that had developed in her chest. Then the car stopped... and Scarlet stared at her new home.
