Character History: Melaina was born on the Quilete Reservation, but her parents wanted more. They were young and did not was to be stuck in Washington. She and her parents ended up in Missouri. When she turned fourteen, her parents were killed in a car accident. Her grandmother, being the only family she had left, took full custody over her. She discovered she was a wolf when she got frustrated shaving. Her grandmother came home to see a ginger wolf in the bathroom and called her neighbor, Quil Ateara Jr., to remove it. Quil, and everyone else, already knew what was happening and helped her get through it.
Character Appearance: Melaina is petite with caramel skin. She has beautiful curly brown hair and chocolate eyes. As a wolf, she carries on her slim, slight figure. She has a rich ginger fur that is more soft, than wiry.

Personality: Melaina is extremely optimistic girl. She believes in the saying "Once you have had great sorrow, you can better appreciate any type of happiness." She still mourns her parents, but only in private, or as private as her life can get. The pack has brought her back to reality in some ways. It makes her feel like she has something to live for.
Melaina is one of the sweetest girls you would ever meet. You would never believe that she was able to fight anyone, in any form. She has a hard time keeping control of her temper if she has very little sleep. She believes one of the upsides of being a wolf is imprinting and she is looking forward to it very much.

Melaina looked out over the cliffs. It was a slow day without patrols. She came up here to be alone. She needed to refocus and think about what really matters her life. 'How did it get to the point where I had a bunch of people in my head?' she thought. She wasn't used to the silence and would enjoy it while she could.
Suddenly she looked into the sky. The sun was shining bright, for once. It reminded her of when she was younger and things were less complicated. 'This would have happened anyway,' she thought, 'I just would be all alone. No one would understand. People would have gotten hurt.' It hurt to think like this. In her mind, this was like her saying that she would have gone insane if her parents hadn't died. "I'm sorry, Mom and Dad," she whispered to the sky.
The tears started to fall down her face. If someone were to find her here crying, it would ruin everything she had at this moment. She didn't look back, as she walked in reverse and took a running jump off the cliff into the water. "Never let them see you cry," she whispered, as she fell.
