Your name: Katy
Character's Name (Nicknames): Nathaniel "Nate" Hobbes [he goes by Nate]
Gender: Male
Age: 18
If you are a vampire, what year was your character actually born in? N/A
Category (Veggie Vampire/Wild Vampire/Human/Werewolf): Human
Character History:
Nate Hobbes grew up in Forks. His grandfather is an active member of the city council, his father is the superintendent of the school board, and his mother organizes every home and garden party in town. He has two younger siblings, a brother (Peter, 15) and a sister Anabell (14). His home life is very Beaver Cleaver. Everything is as it should be or as you'd see in those 1950's TV shows.
His mother is full Quileute Indian. This means that he has spent a good half of his life on the reservation at First Beach or at his cousin Emily Young's house (seconds cousins. Technically this would make Leah and Seth his first cousins. Idk.) He knows the in and outs of the rez, the cliffs, the trails and even the streets of the village. His father disapproves of his constant presence there purely out of fear of the supernatural which lines their legends.
Nate's life is seemingly perfect. He has a girlfriend named Julia. They have been together since freshman year. She is, in his mind (and for now, might I add) the perfect woman. She is a pretty, smart, funny girl who can put him in his place with a simple look. He plays football in the tri-cities league and is active in the drama club while maintaining a part time job. His brother is the co-editor of the school paper and participates in the Olympic soccer league, and his sister is the brainiac gymnast who they both keep their eyes on.
Character Appearance: He has longer dark hair, deep brown eyes and a strong, athletic build. He is the epitome of tall, dark, and handsome.
Strengths/Weaknesses:
Strengths- He is a good multi-tasker. He makes friends easily, and kind of is the leader amongst his group of friends. He loves his family and manages to make time for them amongst his busy schedule.
Weaknesses- He's very skeptical. He can get carried away with the jokes from time to time. His life is simply too perfect, he may not know what to do when something shakes it up.
Personality:
(See Above, I suppose.)
How is your character related to the story?
He goes to Forks High. In a piece I was meddling with, he was an unmentioned member at Bella and Edward's lunch table along with his girlfriend Julia. He's now a senior. And he's also related to Emily Young.
Sample of your RP-ing skills: (2+ paragraphs)
Nate walked out into the torrential downpour towards his truck. He opened the door as quietly as the rain would allow him, for Julia was asleep in the passengers seat, obviously having dozed off in his hour long and unnecessary detention. He had been late to class for the third time that week, and so his punishment was a thorough cleaning of Mr. Varner's room. This was a welcome trade-off to the black spot that could have been on his attendance record. That little slip up, had it reached his father's ears, would have meant two weeks of disappointment around his house, a sentencing in it's own right. He knew how to play the game of life with his parents; he was the peace-keeper.
He smiled as he looked at the pretty girl curled up in the passengers seat. How had he managed to hook a girl that was so pretty? He turned the key in his ignition and the truck roared to life, making Julia jump slightly. "I'm sorry," he mumbled, placing his hand on the hand of hers that was closest to him, "I didn't mean to wake you." She stretched her arms dramatically and let out a large yawn, muttering something that sounded like "it's okay." She smiled at him and he put the truck in drive to leave the student lot.
The car ride home was silent, a comfortable quiet. When they reached her house she leaned across the cab, kissed his cheek and said "Call me," in her beautiful voice. He watched her walk to her door through the rain and put his hands over his face. What was the matter with him? She was a cute, funny, wholesome girl, a good, Christian girl who could put him in his place with a simple look. What could possibly be missing? Why did he feel as if their relationship was lacking anything. They were happy together, and she was the perfect girl. But was she perfect for him?
