“It’s more like….gravity moves. When you see her, suddenly it’s not the earth holding you here anymore. She does.
And nothing matters more than her.
And you would do anything for her, be anything for her…
You become whatever she needs you to be, whether that’s a protector, or a lover, or a friend, or a brother.”

I ran to escape my past. I ran to start anew. I ran because truthfully I needed to. Running was my answer to anything. Fight or flight. And I always seemed to take the easiest way out, no matter what. God, I'm such a coward some times. But, really what would you do if the girl you were in love with was in love with a vampire.
Hi, I'm Jacob Black. Coward, and former best friend of Isabella Swan. That is, before the leech came back and she attached herself to him, after all he did to her. I still can't believe it. But, I mean it's not like I imprinted on her or anything. That would probably make this experience ten times worse. What didn't make since to me is why she'd choose a vampire over a werewolf. Honestly, if you had to choose? Would you choose someone you can have a future with, can grow old and have children with, someone who doesn't lust over your blood. Or would you rather have a cold, dead, someone who had no heart and was made to exterminate your entire species. Yeah, I guess you could say I hate vampires. Not only because the girl I'm in love with chose one over me, but also because I'm sorta forced to. You see, vampires and werewolves don't exactly have the best track record together.
But, anyway enough of my whining. Let's get on with the story.
Like I said, I ran. Looking back on it I don't have any regrets on why I ran, but you'll find out why soon enough. Moving on. It was a cool day in La Push as I slipped out of my bedroom window without looking back. I walked at first without really a care in the world. And then, I smelt the scent of one of my best friends, Embry Call, and I started running. Embry seemed to catch my drift and phased back to his human form and just sorta awkwardly watched me leave. I hated leaving my family here, but what can you do? I slightly remember crossing the Washington border. But, I wasn't exactly sure where I was. Nothing really was on mind. I was just running. Away from it all, my first love, my enemies, and my friends and family. Though the last two hurt more I couldn't make myself turn around and go back home. I had to go on, and I wasn't exactly sure why. I reached Oregon and just ran through the state. Now, I was in Northern California. I remember phasing back and walking on the beach, just watching the waves that so very reminded me of La Push.
I'd been sitting on a piece of drift wood that had probably beached not long ago, because it was still damp and watched as a little girl giggled and ran into the water away from an older woman. Probably, her mom or grandmother. And my question was answered when the most beautiful laugh I've ever heard escaped the lips of someone I hadn't seen. The little girl looked up and took off towards the laugh but, I just sat frozen as one word escaped my lips. Imprint. The little girl's voice rang with one word as well, though her's was mommy. The young child ran back to her grandmother as my imprint walked over to join the two. She was in a pair of jean shorts that left little to be desired and a white tank-top. She seemed young, probably my age and yet, she had a daughter who, by the looks of it was maybe three? My imprint had long straight blonde hair that would make an angel green with envy. She put the little girl on the ground and the youngster just then noticed me. She was adorable and ran over to me and hugged me. "Hi! I'm Chloe, wanna be my new best friend?" She asked me with a smile. "Sure, kiddo. I'm Jake." I introduced myself as she grabbed my hand and led me to her mother and grandmother. "Mommy, this is Jake, he's my new best friend." She introduced me to her mother who smiled at her and then brought her gaze up to me.
With shock written all over her face she smiled and replied. "I'm Reagan." She stuck her hand out and I shook it with the one that wasn't being held by, Chloe. "Jacob." I replied. She nodded and a strand of her golden hair fell from behind her ear. I desperately wanted to push it back but, Reagan beat me to it and did it herself.
what do you think?
