So, Rowen Marline came up with a brilliant idea for a contest. It's a posting contest. The theme is "A Day in the Life of Your Favorite Canon Character." The grand prize is the power/ability of your choice (with my sign off, though there is little I would reject). The second place winner will receive a power of their choice, though it must be one already mentioned in the series. The third prize winner will receive the house of their choice.
You may only enter once (total, not per character). The contest will end September 19th, 2009.
The posts will be judged not necessarily on length, but on creativeness and how closely they stick to the character. Yes, this is being vague on purpose. We want to see how creative you are!

((yay first)) a day in the life of Charlie Swan - before Bella's return- Charlie awoke to his alarm on his favorite day. This day just happened to be a Saturday. he was finally going to be able to just sit back with a few vitamin R's on the water and fish. He climbed out of bed and sleepily walked to the bathroom. he sighed deeply as he felt the knots in his back be worked out by the nice hot water from the shower head. he then proceeded to put on his most comfortable camouflage pants and a windbreaker. on his way downstairs he listened to the house creak as he walked the weary steps. he loved this house. He went downstairs and munched on some cold cereal from the cupboard. he then made several fish fry sandwiches for out on the water. he took his cruiser slowly through town. about 3 block from the Mariana he saw the Fire department running a 'fill the boot' charity. he pulled up and had a quick but pleasant conversation with the chief, he reached into his wallet which he always placed under his left leg when driving and donated a 20.
Sure it was a lot, but he felt not only obligated as a fellow serviceman to the community to set a good example, but because Mark was a close friend and he loved to talk. After parting he made his way to his little modest fishing boat and proceeded out to the river. He opened his tackle box and saw the faded picture of Bella and Renee. The photo was one he took at the hospital. It was his way of bringing them with him to his place where he was at peace. A brief smile touched his lips as he thought of those long ago memories. he took out an old tin bandage case and opened it, selected his most trustworthy lure and set off for the day of fishing.
Several hours later, at about two in the afternoon he had stored 3 good sized trout and a couple of pike in the live well for henry's fish fry recipe. he smiled all the way home as he piloted the boat with the rudder handle. the wake thrown off the bow in neat little crescents. He returned home, worked on the gutters until about 8:30 and then went in to watch sports center... little did he know that the next day he would be called by Bella, who would be Asking to come stay with him.

-Jacob- Bounding through the forest again, on four legs. No patrol. Sam was being rediculous, something he was prone to more and more often. He needed to clear his mind. I'm not going to be able to enjoy this very long. As if on que, Seth's voice popped into his head. You're way too hot-headed Jacob. No pun intended. In the distance, Jake could hear a bark of laughter. His shoulders heaved in a sigh. If you're going to come, come. K Seth?
You're not the boss of me, Jake. Though a moment later Seth was at his side, grinning his infamous, wide wolf grin. Nobody could not like Seth. His sister tried everyone's patience. Tail swishing from side to so quickly it was almost a blur. Jake wriggled his paws feeling the grassy earth underneath. Life would never be what it was supposed to be for him, but at the moment, he felt that everything was good again. Like he could still be chilled by a breeze. Like he was still ignorant of the clandestine goings on in Forks. He stopped walking a plopped down under a shady oak tree. Seth kept walking. One good thing about the party line in your head is everyone knew when to disconnect. When Seth was out of sight he changed back and slipped on the clothes tied to his leg.
Stretching out under the tree, Jake thought about how much more comfortable he would be if he'd stayed big and furry. I wonder what Bells is doing. If possible, Jake felt a burning flash of anger go up and down his spine. I wonder if she's with that leech. If he ever- It's what she wants. To be without a beating heart. To be without . . . me. If he violates the treaty, he violates the treaty and It's my duty to enforce it. I can't go to any wedding. It's so damned close. I can't see her at all and I can't let her down. Jesus, Bella why do you always to this to me! Jake growled out loud. Its not fair. I can't be angry at her. She'll break. I just can't stay. . . . . I won't. I leave tonight and nobody will stop me. I have to figure myself out.
Changing back he raced out of La Push, howling mournfully and running with the weight of the world on his shoulders.

- Alice - (Before Bella)
“Let’s go shopping Rose.” Alice gave Rosalie a bright smile in the hopes of convincing her to come with her. Rosalie sighed and rolled her eyes from the couch. Alice frowned at the reaction. It was obvious that she didn’t want to come. “We just went yesterday, Alice. You had more than ten bags with you. What else could you possibly buy?” she said, one eyebrow raised. “The whole mall?” Edward suggested from his room. He was listening to music which wasn’t that strange. Rosalie laughed eyes on the television. Alice pouted and put her hands on her hips. She loved them both but they were annoying sometimes. Rosalie sighed again. “Why don’t you go with Jasper?” she asked, turning to face Alice. Alice shook her head, faking depression. “Don’t you pay any attention to what goes on in this house? Jasper, Emmet, and Carlisle all went hunting this morning.” “So, that’s why it was so quiet,” Rosalie murmured to herself. It was Edward’s turn to laugh now. Alice was starting to get angry now. “Alright, how about Esme?” was Rosalie’s next recommendation. Alice shook her head. “She’s busy making plans for a rooftop garden. She’s been at Port Angeles all day.” “Ok, then go with Edward.” Both girls heard the music stop in Edward’s room and quick footsteps. In a flash, Edward was in front of them. He grabbed his coat and gave them a sheepish smile. “I wish I could, but I can’t. I have a previous engagement,” he announced. Alice frowned and wrinkled her nose in frustration. “Oh, yeah? Like what?” Rosalie challenged. “Like a new car coming in today from overseas,” he replied smoothly. Rosalie didn’t look very happy at this piece of information. “You got another car?” Edward smiled and nodded. “This one is my special occasions car,” he explained. “Isn’t shopping with your favorite sister a special occasion?” Alice pleaded, making puppy dog eyes. Rosalie rolled her eyes while Edward stepped backwards toward the door. “Sorry. I’ll see you two around later.” With that, he was gone. They heard an engine start and speed off down the road. With no one else around, Alice turned back to Rosalie who was staring at the TV like it was the most interesting thing she had ever seen in her life. “Please, Rose?” Alice begged, giving Rose the puppy dog eyes now and adding a little sniffle for effect. The girl was an amazing actor. Rosalie made the mistake of glancing at Alice. She paused for a moment before groaning. “Oh, alright. But you’re getting me a new curling iron.” “Yay!” Alice squealed. “Let me just get my purse!” As she sped up to her room, Alice was grinning from ear to ear. She loved shopping trips and was sure to buy way more than ten bags again today. She wouldn’t be Alice if she didn’t.
((This was a lot of fun to write!))

A Day In the Life Of Renesmee Cullen [Age 16 or so]
Renesmee yawned and stretched as she began to wake up. She was already excited to see Jake and she hadn't even been conscious for over a minute. from the smells floating down the hall she could tell her dad was cooking breakfast; an idea that was completely insane to her. he always cooked way to much and she didnt really enjoy it anyways. she usually tried to hide it untill she was out with Jake but nothing usually escaped his or her mothers eyes. She walked down the hall of the cottage that Esme had built them before they knew she was coming. "Hey Dad!" she said. Sometimes she wanted to be mad at her father but everytime she seen him his face lit up like he was staring at God himself. "Hello Renesmee. I made omletts" Edward said with a giggle. Anytime Eggs were mentioned her mom or her dad would laugh. Renesmee had been curious about this at first but eventually it just creeped her out. Edward laughed again louder this time. it was so inconvenint to have a father who could read her thoughts. "Yum." she said sarcasticlly. "Hey um wheres mom?" she wondered aloud. "Shes out hunting with Alice and Jazz." Uncle Jasper and Aunt Alice were Renesmee's two favorite people in the whole world. They were just so unique. Renesmee ate her nasty tasting omlett in a hurry. the sooner to see Jake she thought. As soon as she was done she pulled on the first things her hands touched and she bounded out the door. She smelled the air and caught hold of Jacobs sent immedatly. then she took off full speed. She saw jake before he saw her and she sprang. Jake was sooo goregous, even for a shapeshifter. he didnt even quiver anymore when she tackled him. He just rolled over and kissed her. Renesmee loved Jake and he adored her. she could tell. eventually they got up and went for a run. "Time to walk the dog." Renesmee said playfully. Jake just kissed her again and shifted into a giant wolf. After they had ran for most of the day they both sat down and relaxed. "Do you know that your dad used to sneak into your moms room at night? if I even thought about trying that he would kill me" Jake laughed. "Well cant you shut off your brain or something." Renesmee said. "Tried that already. A LONG time ago." jake replied. Renesmee never found it weird that jake was so much older than her. actually she liked it. "Oh well i guess its time to go home." renesmee said looking up to the sky. "Okay," jake said "race you there?" and he took off running shaking the whole way. when they were at the door he gave her a quick kiss and then ran inside. He grabbed bella and Edward in a huge bear hug. "So how are my future in-laws?" dad growled a bit but mom just said fine. They sat, talked, and ate for a little while before Edward announced curfew and sent jake away. Renesmee yawned and kissed her parents before heading to bed.

-A Day In the Life of Jasper Cullen: I couldn't help it... I had to leave. The smell.... her blood. It was tempting me. I wanted it too bad. I just had to leave. "Jasper!" I heard my love call my name. I ran even quicker towards the wooded area behind our home. I could sense Alice's fear and I tried my best to calm her. It wasn't easy considering that I was feeling an immense bloodlust at this moment in time. All I wanted was to taste it. I wanted human blood, not that animal crap I've been trying. "JASPER!! PLEASE!!"[ I heard from behind me. It was m'dear Alice again. I really should've turned around. As I approached a nearby campsite, the smell became even greater and I knew I couldn't hold out much longer.
I walked closer and closer to the group of people, there was a small group of campers. They looked peaceful, but at the same time so appetizing. I took a step closer, and another sniff... I noticed an older male take a step away from the group as he walked towards the tree I was behind. He stepped onto a peiece of wood. I smelled the blood before I saw it.. and I made my attack.
"Jasper!!" Alice yelled my name as I came back from my daydream, considering I couldn't sleep. I can't believe what just happened... I really have to talk to Carlise...

-A Day Of Un-Newborn Vampire Bella--- 17 Years Later!
Bella smiled as Edward gave her the usual long kiss that used to send her heart thudding at a unusual pace. She took in his smell and pulled away. She sighed. "Oh, alright. Just, next time you're hunting with me." She said, throwing her face into his cold chest that used to give her goose-bumps. She frowned. "Are you mad, love?" Edward said, Bella didn't want him to go, but he had to hunt. They all did or Nessie would be in danger. Bella pulled away from Edward's sculptured chest as fast as her vampire speed would let her.. "No!" Bella said, quickly, staring into his dark gold eyes. He was a little hungry. "Of course not!" Bella pulled her hand through her hair and stared back into the eyes that she loved. Bella pulled herself into Edward's chest again, this time, she didn't breathe.
Edward sighed. "Bye my Bella. I will be back tomorrow, in the morning, before N-Renesmee wakes." Edward said, trying very hard not to upset his wife. Bella frowned and pulled back a little, looking at his face. Everyone knew she was over that. They just never wanted to make her mad, like Jacob did. That was over 15 years ago. Bella wasn't trying to count, but it was a little hard with all of Nessie's parties. "I'm over it. Her nickname is Nessie. I am over it! Just kiss me." Bella stood on her toes, trying urgently to reach Edward's lips. He bent down a little and let his lips touch hers, sending her breathing wild. This always happened. Renesmee was happy her parents got along. Edward let his mouth trace down to Bella's neck and Bella smiled. "You know," Edward began, breathing his words. "I don't have to leave." He was trying to let Bella have her way, she felt a little guilty and a little spoiled. This reminded her of some of her human nights with Edward, although they weren't as great as her vampire nights. She loved her vampire days with her vampire and half vampire family. Bella sighed, pulling away even if she didn't want to. She kept her hands at his waste as she talked. "Bye. I love you." Edward looked into her light gold eyes. She had hunted the other day. "I love you." He was gone. He was already somewhere else.
-STILL IN PROGRESS!-

A Day In the Life of Bella Swan(age 14 on her last visit in Forks) -Bella- I couldn't believe that I was going through with this again. I hated it here in Forks, nothing would ever change that...so why did I continue to come back? Was it because I refused to put my foot down? Because I'm a doormat? Because I don't want to hurt Charlie's feelings? Whatever the reason, it must be a good one because I always revisit every summer. It's not like I get to spend much time with Charlie while he's here anyway. I get to see him at dinner and that's pretty much it. The Chief is always working for his good people. I know you're probably thinking: "why doesn't she go into town and say hi to some people, or go shopping?". Heck, you might also be thinking: "She could always go for a walk or something." I would probably trip, break my arm, then get attention from everyone in town because I went to the hospital. That isn't really my scene. I'm not the "give me the limelight!" type of teenage girl. Well to option A, I say no because whenever I go into town, that causes human interaction. In this human interaction people always ask various questions. 'How's your mom?' or 'Are you staying this year?' and the notorious, 'Why don't you stay? Forks is so lovely.' My response to question 1: She's great. Thanks for asking(then I stand awkwardly thinking of something to add). My response to question 2: No, I've already been re-enrolled for my school in Pheonix(then I respond to a bunch of other propositions on why I should stay in Forks). My response to question 3(if I had the guts to say this): Because I hate it here. It rains too much. It's too cold. There's nothing to do, and frankly your library sucks. Why did everyone want me to stay so badly anyway? It's not like I was interesting or anything. I was average. If there was anything unique about me it was my ghostly white skin. I swear, if my hair was blond I could be mistaken for an albino. Charlie's got a normal complexion. If only I could've inherited that from him. Instead I got his personality. Things Charlie and I have in common: 1. We are unable to express our true emotions. 2. We cannot dance to save our lives. 3. We have a tendency to be hot tempered. 4. We are both impatient. 5. We are both on the pessimistic side. Then, when I thought about it, we were still opposites. The way I preferred large towns whereas he adored poe-dunk, small towns. He was ghung-ho about everything he did, but I was always unsure. Charlie was also good at lying. God knows I am not in the least. Was it better to be more like Renee or Charlie. Renee was outgoing, but crazy. Charlie was strong willed, but routine obsessed. "Neither." I thought to myself. Maybe being neither of them was a good thing. Maybe Isabella Marie Swan was good enough. Then I had a flashback. -Flashback, Last Day of 8th Grade- "Callie! Sign my year book!" Jen called. I watched from behind the curtain of my dark hair. Callie met up with Jen and scrawled in the year book. Two typical Pheonix Cheerleaders. Long blond hair with glowing tans. I grabbed the remains of my magnets from my locker and caught site of my pale hand. I grimaced. Why couldn't I tan? Was I immune to the sun's powers? That was the explanation. I touched my Physical Science book. It toppled to the tiled floor. A hand picked it up. Greg. I looked up. He grinned his perfect smile. I was immune to his charm. "Here, Bella." he said. I gave him a nod and accepted my book. "What are you plans for the summer?" he asked as I shoved my books in my bag. I shrugged and took in a breath as I struggled to admit my plans. "Going up to Forks to visit my dad." I said. "Forks? Where's that?" he asked running his fingers through his fluffy brown hair. I sighed and slammed my vacant locker. Forks was indeed a small town. "It's in Washington." "D.C.?" he asked. So ignorant. "No. Washington state." I sighed. We stood awkwardly as I shifted my weight to my other hip. He gave me a look like he just realized who he was talking to. "Bye, Bella." he said strolling away. "Yeah." I replied. I started to leave, then Jen bumped in front of me. "Bella, do you know who you just talked to?" she gaped. "Yeah. Gregory Harrison." I replied, tucking a strand of hair away from my face. She let out a soft laugh. "What was he talking to YOU about?" Callie questioned appearing at Jen's side. I sighed and shrugged. "Just asked me about my summer plans." I said starting to leave. Callie and Jen's plump lips curled as they fought back laughter. "Ah." Jen said. "Bye, Isabella." Callie said. Clearly she had just said my real name to annoy me. "Bye." I said walking away. I guess they thought that socially handicapped people couldn't hear because as I left, they said: "GREG, talking to BELLA?" Callie said. "Trust me, Cal, he was only trying to get her to have sex with him. Why do you think he walked off when she said she was going to Forks?" It was official. I was a social reject. -Back from flashback- My chin jutted out as I did my best to push it from mind. I was usually very good at this. I had come to terms with my shy nature and less than attractive appearance a few years ago. I didn't know why I hadn't guessed what Greg was after that day right off the bat. Instead of realizing it on my own, I had to hear it(though I wasn't supposed to) from two popular cheerleaders. Was I really that much of a reject and loser that all a guy wanted me for was sex? It didn't occur to me that this dizzying mental narration was all taking place on my quilt covered bed in my blue room. How long had I been sitting here? 'Wow, I'm pathetic.' I thought to myself. I got off my bed and walked to the window, gently tossing aside the lace curtains. It wasn't raining anymore(not hard at least). Maybe town wasn't such a bad idea. If I managed to keep my mouth shut, then maybe no one would speak to me. That was a bad assumption. Everyone would recognize me. There was officially nothing to do. I had already read both the books I brought three times over. I had only been in Forks four days. How had I managed to occupy myself? "Call Renee." I thought. Another bad idea. She would ask me if I was alright. I would lie and say yes. She would figure out I was lying. She would try and convince me to come home. I would say no. She would say "If you're sure". I would say yes. She would babble. I would finally get her to hang up. To conclude all this sadness, I would end up on my bed crying, wishing I had taken her up on her offer to come get me. Then I realized that after this visit, I would call a quits. This was the last time I would go to Forks. I would stop being a doormat, speak up, and tell my mom that I was done. I wouldn't tell Charlie though. That would be Renee's job. Thinking of Charlie made my heart wrench. This was the second time he would say goodbye to me. Then again, who said we still couldn't see each other? What if we met some place else for two weeks every summer. A half way point between both our homes. I would figure out the location when I felt like it. It would have to be warm and sunny, that was for sure. Until I had consulted with Renee, this would remain my secret plan. I wouldn't mention it to Charlie. I laid back down on my bed and folded my arms trying to create warmth. When that failed I went ahead and pulled on the quilt. I became warmer instantly. It felt faintly like a cooler Arizona. So I closed my chocolate brown eyes and I tried to envision Pheonix. It's dry weather and crunchy gravel. The blue, cloudless sky and the blistering, scathing heat. Me in my favorite white, eyelet lace tank top and shorts. My pale skin glowing. The memory made me homesick, but it was better than coming to terms with reality and realizing that I was still in Forks. Either way, there was one thing I was positive about. It would take a heck lot more than a sunny day to make me stay in Forks. An angel would have to show up for me to stay. Obviously, that was never going to happen. I stopped kidding myself, and fell asleep.

[Before getting too know Bella and all] An Average Day in the Life of Alice Cullen(SPOOF!) I carefully examined my perky round butts reflection that were resting in the ultra skinny jeans my sister Rosalie had let me borrow. We were currently having a bet on who's butt looked better, and I knew from by the way the jeans hugged my hips like a teddy bear, that I'd win. "INCOMING!" My wonderful, energetic husband Jasper hollered as he swung like a monkey on a vine into my bedroom. I quickly turned around so he wouldn't catch me looking at myself--again. Jasper wasn't even paying attention, he was too busy checking out his own blonde hair that was puffed up like a little baby lambs wool. "Why are you in here?" I asked sliding a grey and black long sleeved tee over my white tank top. "Tryin' to do my hair like Edward's," he answered as he ran a comb through his tangled hair. "That's what the ladies seem to love is his hair." Ugh. Edward was one of my other brothers, and according to the 'ladies', he was the best looking. I guess he had nice potential; copper hair that looked like two shiny pennies, tall, white, muscular...but then again, who didn't want that? "Edward's gone!" I heard Emmett, the jock of the family, yell from downstairs. Great. That meant we had to take Rosalie's red convertible. It's not that I didn't like it, it's just that she had so many rules for riding in her car, it was impossible to do anything but just sit frozen like a slab of stone until you reached your destination. "Well," Jasper said hooking his arm into mine. "The wicked witch awaits us." I giggled and nodded. This would be a fun trip.
On our way to Forks High School (a.k.a. a living nightmare) no one spoke. Rosalie kept her golden yellow eyes on the road ahead of us, and it felt like we'd been trapped in here forever. "Wonder why Edward left so early," Jasper said finally breaking the silence. "Maybe he went to get breakfast." Emmett chuckled. "You know we don't eat that disgusting human food, remember?" Jasper reminded him. "Course I remember." "Then why did you say that?" "Because it was so obvious he wasn't, it was funny." "Really? Because I'm not laughing." "You never laugh anyway, so whats the big deal?" "The big deal is-" "QUIET!" Rosalie screamed. Jasper and Emmett both slumped down in their seats. "Thank you," Rosalie then said in a sweet angelic voice. It was silent for another few moments, then Jasper began to speak again. "Maybe he's with that girl he's been with all week." he said in a whisper to avoid Rosalie's raging voice of terror. "Yeah," Emmett agreed. "What was her name, again? Was it Ella?" "No," Jasper said. "I'm pretty sure it was something like Carmella." "It was Ella." Emmett rolled his eyes. "Carmella." Jasper rolled his back. "ELLA." Emmett sat up. "CARMELLA." Jasper remained still. "ELLA!" "CARMELLA!" "ELLLLAAAAAAA!" "CARMELLAAAAAAAAAA!" "ELL-" This time, Rosalie slammed on the brakes and we all lunged forward. "Oww!" Emmett moaned. "My head hit the back of your seat, Rose!" "Greatt!" Jasper said angrilly. "I bit my tongue, you crazy witch!" I buried my head in my hands to avoid Rosalie's eyes that probably burned like flames. "I told you to stop arguing!" Rosalie barked. "And what did you do? YOU ARGUED!" "Babe, come on-" Emmett tried to ease her up. "SHUT UP!" she roared. Emmett sat back. Jasper giggled. "You too, sheep!" Emmett put his hand over his mouth so his wife wouldn't catch him laughing. "You know what, Rose?" I said lifting my head up. Rosalie whipped her head around and stared at me. "What?" "Why don't I drive?"

Saving Emmett A Snippet of a Day in the life of Ms. Rosalie Hale
“Carlisle!” Footsteps met my ears. He had heard me. I started thinking what I needed him to know, knowing he had been with Edward and hoping that was still the case. I can’t save him… He’s going to die… But, I need him. I can’t lose him. Not now. I don’t know what’s going on, but I can’t lose him. There’s nothing we can do. He’s lost too much blood… Edward, he’s bleeding a lot. Stay back… Carlisle, you have to do it. There isn’t much time. Break the tree line and do it...
For me.
The man starting gasping loudly.
It’s now or never… “Rosalie, I can’t… Carlisle said, breaking the treeline. “You’ve done it before, Carlisle! You have to do it now…” “And condemn this innocent man to the same life I condemned you?” “Carlisle, you can’t save him in a human form. You’ve already done it three times…” “And would you say I had been right in my judgment? If this is what you want…” I looked at him. The curls, the dimples, the innocence… “More than anything, Carlisle.” “Rosalie, if this is what you really want you can do it yourself…” “I don’t trust myself, Carlisle! Please! He’s running out of time.”
Carlisle bent down to give me this gift, most reluctantly. I didn’t think I could watch. I looked at the man one last time as he looked at Carlisle. He managed a glance toward me and the corner of his mouth turned up. I left them. I went to Edward.
“Thank you, Edward.” “Anything for you, Rose.” “You don’t have to be kind to me, Edward.” “No, I don’t. Maybe I’m being polite because I don’t really hate you…” “I never said you did…” “Rosalie, just because I don’t want you… in that way… doesn’t mean I don’t like you.” “Let’s not talk about this just now…” “Where did you pick him up?” “Gatlinburg.” “There’s no way, Rosalie… That’s more than a hundred miles from here…" “I don’t know what got into me.”
At that moment a yell came from the other side of the trees. I felt myself tense up. I wanted Carlisle to turn him so badly, and besides the curls and dimples I had no excuse for myself.
“All of this, for a human. Rosalie Hale…” “It’s not like that, Edward. I don’t understand it. I just couldn’t let him die.” And then I realized how quiet it was. “Edward… What’s Carlisle thinking?” “He’s just being patient… His thoughts are incoherent. He’s focusing on Emmett…” “Emmett?” What a charming name. Hearing the name should’ve been incorporated into the melody he had already inspired in my head, but the melody was gone. His heartbeat had stopped. “Damn it! Edward, it stopped… His heart, I was too late!” “Shhh, Rose. Listen…” Edward turned his head to the trees and his fingers started moving as if on a piano. I suddenly imagined a very angry war march. The beat that should’ve been his heart was loud in my mind; raging within his body, turning the melody into something passionate, something real. “It really is a beautiful melody, Rose. The Heart of Emmett. I’ll have to put it on the keys when we get home. The beginning is so full of life and passion…” “It’s just a stupid song. There’s no use for it anymore. I let him die.” “Let him die? You cannot tell me that you don’t hear that beat. It’s like a raging drum… Like a war beat.” And I heard it. What I thought seemed too loud for imagination was real. I had the longing to run through the trees. To check on him. To make sure I hadn’t lost him. “So why are you still standing here?” Edward poked me in the shoulder and started walking through the trees. With so much fresh blood around him I wasn’t sure if I could stand Edward being so close to the man, to Emmett, without me there to protect him. Breaking through the trees I heard his heart beat and saw him wrenching on the ground. His forehead was covered in sweat that seemed to be dripping from his black curls. “Carlisle? Is he ok?” I was worried. I was genuinely concerned for him. Edward had gone to comfort Carlisle. I knew what a sacrifice he had just made for me, but I couldn’t find the words to thank him. Carlisle didn’t lift his eyes from Emmett. “The venom is taking hold. He’ll be feeling the full extent of this in a little while. We need to get him home. Edward, can you handle him?” Edward nodded his head. He leaned down to pick him up and I noticed he stopped breathing. He headed into the woods at a run and I couldn’t bear to see him go.
“Rosalie, I don’t take joy in robbing someone of their life. You must understand that.” “I don’t think you’re a monster. Carlisle, I couldn’t… I just couldn’t see him die.” Carlisle appraised me. “I hope, then, that Emmett will bring you joy.” “Thank you, Carlisle. I know you didn’t want to…” “I want to see you happy. For once.” With that, he turned and ran into the woods behind Edward. A sigh of relief later, and I was right behind them.

Alice turned her head to lean on Bella's shoulder and smiled a victorius smile. Bella pulled Alice arm distance apart and said "you know that i do, its just that i don't want to go shopping every ten minutes, why don't you go with Rosalie? Just then Rosali appeared Next to Bella and said "Oh no its your turn to go with Alice.Everyone here needs a break from shopping. You don't know how many times we've had to go before you even came.its your turn.besides i'm sure Alice wants to express her fashion expertise on someone like you who doesn't have any rather than on someone who does, like me. it'll give her more time to shop." Alice's eyes lit up and she jumped up and down, holding on to Bellas shirt "oh please, please, please won't you go with me? i'll love you forever..." Bella rolled her eyes again and sighed "Alice you've said that about a thousand times already. Actually you say that every time you want me to go shopping with you. What about Emmett, why don't you go shopping with him?" Out of Rosalies room you could hear Emmet yell "can't, im going to take Renesmee to the park in an hour after she comes back from la push and i think Alice wants to go shopping for more than an hour"As Bella turned to look back at Alice and hear Rosalie whisper to Emmett"nice save,i bet you just came up with that out of nowhere" Alice was thinking of a way to get back at Emmett later for not going with her. "What about Esme?" Alice turned around and said "she is going to be busy all day looking for our next house since we are going to be moving out of forks soon, remember?"Alice looked down and heard Bella say "oh right"
Alice was gettin impatien with Bella since she kept on trying to get out of it but she knew in the end she'd win. Bella then asked "and what about Jasper? in sure he'd love to go with you" Alice shifted her weight to her other leg and said" yes, he probebly would but Edward took him hunting with him and they won't be back till tomorrow" Bella remembered and sighed again at the thought of Edward being away. Alice stared right at Bella waiting for her next atempt to get out of shopping "And Carlisle?" Alice knew Bella's atempts had come to an end so she just raised an eyebrow and let Bella realize that as well "oh yeah he's at the hospital working" she said looking down and trying to think of a new way to escape. Alice realized Bella wasn't gonna give up easly so she looked at Rosalie and then turned to Bella realizing Rosalie was right and she would have more fun shopping with Bella Alice put on her puppy dog face and Rosalie ran away so she would not be persuaded into going.Bella was about to run to but Alice put herself right in front of her. "Are you avoiding me now?"Bella tried not to look at her but Alice put her face in front of her and said "Bella won't you please go with me?You are my best friend and i want to go shopping with you" That was to much for Bella so she sighed and said "Alright Alice you win, though you probably knew you'd win.Lets go shopping" Alice smiled a triumft smile and grabed Bella so they could go shopping.

A day in the life of Carlisle Cullen, before he had a family. Carlisle grudgingly exited the chaotic hospital and headed toward his tiny appartment. He desperately wanted to turn around and go back. There were people dying and he was unable to help them. This illness seemed to grip the city in an iron fist and he was powerless to stop it. He knew that if the hospital staff, or the patients were to become suspiscious of him, he would be unable to help at all, so he forced himself to accept the necessity of a few hours spent pretending to rest. He had attempted to convince his fellow doctors to allow him to 'sleep' on a cot for a bit, so that he could be closer to the hospital, but they wouldn't allow it. He had already been at the hospital for over 36 hours. That was long enough. When he arrived, he quickly removed his soiled clothing and dressed in a simple pair of trousers and a loose-fitting shirt. The appartment was simple, almost drab from the outside. The interior was decorated as one would expect a scholar's library to look. The walls had been expertly plasterred and coated with a thick layer of paint. The glossy wood floors were protected by a fine Italian rug (a gift from his old friends in Italy, the Volturi). Book shelves lined an entire wall in the sitting room. Every shelf was stuffed. Only upon close examination could a visitor realize that the volumes were organized by Carlisle's personnal feelings for the books, then by year, and finally by title. It was an inventory that was obviously cared for and well loved. Each book was different from its fellows. The covers ranged from old to new, fat to thin, tall to short. There were some with crisp new bindings, others so old their titles were no longer legible. Some were bound in leather, others in linen or other materials. All were well treated, and well read. His small bedroom (he didn't need a bedroom, but kept up appearances on the slight chance that anyone were to ever pay him a visit was furnished by a small but comfortable bed with a lightweight quilt. Several paintings adorned the walls, all were masterfully wrought. The walls seemed to come alive with the stories told by each work of art. A desk and chair sat beside a small window with a view of the street. It was at this desk that he now sat and gazed out the window, contemplating his new life. ***** When he felt that enough time had passed, Carlisle rushed back to the emergency room. Two particular patients were on his mind. They had been in desperately bad shape when he'd left the hospital. With remorse, he discovered that they had passed away while he was resting. Their son, who was nearly as ill as they had been, was expected to follow them into the void soon. Carlisle attempted to brush their combined fates from his mind and focus his efforts on other patients but found his mind returning to them persistently. An idea began to form. He knew enough of their history from reading their medical charts to know that their son had no family. The hospital staff had already given up on saving his life. He was even now lying with the terminal cases, all diagnosed as untreatable. For the rest of the day, while he administered any treatment he could to every patient he saw, he debated the possibility that This young man, this Edward, could possibly be the companion he had so desperately wanted. He knew by taking the boy into his care, he would be condemning him to a very long, nocturnal, and secretive life. This lad, just entering manhood, would, if Carlisle decided to act on his selfish desires, never grow old. He would never raise a family of his own. He would never truly fit in. He would live a life of isolation, forced to pull up any roots he had managed to plant and move on every time he got comfortable. Despite all of these reasons, Carlisle could not convince himself to forget the boy. He was plagued with a desire, so fierce he felt nearly feverish, to try to recreate the event that had so completely changed his own life. At the end of a long day of tending to patients and directing nurses, he descended into the ward where the boy lay dying. His skin shone with feverish perspiration. When Carlisle placed his cold hands on the boy's forhead, it felt as if it should be in flames. His eyes, so recently full of life and passion were dull and sightless. His lungs fought desperately to drag each breath. His lips were blue, and his extremities had a bluish tint, as if his heart were no longer able to pump the blood through his body. Before he was aware of doing so, Carlisle made his desicion. He pulled the white sheet over the boy's face, making it appear as if his struggling heart had finally given in, and pulled the wheeled bed out of the ward. Barely 5 minutes later, Carlisle entered his own bedroom and gently lay the boy on the bed. On impulse, he dashed out of the room so fast he would have been invisible, had anyone been in the room. He ran out of the city and followed the first scent he came across. The deer that made the trail never felt his attack. Three more deer followed the first before carlisle was satisfied that his thirst was no longer a danger to the boy. When he returned to the appartment, his hands were shaking with anticipation. He didn't know if he could recreate the events that led to his transformation, having never pursued the subject. Steeling himself against the thirst he knew would soon overwhelm his senses, he removed the boy's shirt and bent overhim, placing his lips tenderly upon his firey skin. Such was the extent of his illness, that the boy didn't even notice when Carlisle's venemous teeth peirced his skin. It was only when the process was well underway that his delirious moans became screams of agony.
