Your name: Katy
Character's Name (Nicknames): Charity Flint
Gender: Female
Age: 19 forever
If you are a vampire, what year was your character actually born in? 1890
Category (Vampire/Human/Werewolf): Vampire
Character History: "My story isn't half as interesting," she said with sincerity. "I was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. 1890. There was still this feel of the antebellum south, ya know? I grew up to a family who basically owned the city. My father was big business, my uncles were all in politics. My granddad owned the biggest commercial trade route on the Cumberland River. They did well for our family. My dad married a woman from old money, generations of wealth and prosperity. And that's how I grew up. With my prosperous family and my friends who were all from rich families as well. I never knew life without money.
"And I was a spoiled child, I'll admit it. The one flaw my family had was not knowing the simplicity of life without money. My mom loved us, in her own way. She bought us dolls we were never allowed to play with. Clothes we wore three or four times before they were thrown out. She ruled our house with a forcefulness I haven't seen matched in my hundred years. It was a good life. I loved it. I loved the city I grew up, I loved being near my family. I loved the fact that we were something bigger than those who were less fortunate...
My dad, being business minded, found other prospects. Other opportunities for our family. When I turned 10 my dad moved to Portland. Only for a few months, he had said, to start Flint Steel and Co. After one whole year, he made a decision and moved my mother, myself, and my four brothers and sisters up there with him. We lived in this huge, huge house. It was much to grandiose for what I was used to, much too empty. Three stories of rooms that made it easy to be separated as a family," she said with a small laugh.
"I hated Portland and everything to do with it. I lived the life of a quiet child until I became a teenager, old enough to be escorted to parties and the large social events my mother insisted I went to. I was pretty and I knew guys were looking at me. I was at every event with a new date until a young man named Randall came along. I was 19 at the time, and he came in and effectively turned my life around. I fell for him and his cloak of mysteriousness quicker than I had time to catch myself."
She paused, embarrassed that she was talking so much. Taking a deep breath, she went on, knowing she'd have to finish her story now. "He appealed to the part of my that hated the town we were in. He spoke to me of running away, back to Nashville, back to my old friends and family. It didn't occur to me how selfish it was at the time, but I bought it. Plans were made and one night he came calling to take me to a party at the neighbors mansion. And we made our run for it. I was so naive at that time.
We made it to the train station and he took his opportunity. Randall had wanted a companion in this life, much like most of us do. The only problem was he wasn't positive about the process involved... He mimicked his own experience, and thank God his was one clean bite. He took me to this abandoned house a few miles on the outskirts of town. When the screams started and the fire took hold, he thought he had killed me. And so he left. And I woke up to this life very much alone."
She had very little social contact because she feared what she had become. Today she has had a while to learn how to become a fully function, socialite vamp and is very much in control of herself. She acts as a nomad most of the time, but she has begun to have an interest in the life normal humans get to live. She wants to settle and she wants to be more stable.
Character Appearance: Kate Moss like, blonde hair, gold eyed (she gave up the whole human diet around 1963 with the beginning of the hippie movement.) Very tall and slender.
Strengths/Weaknesses: She has very good control and she is very adaptable. She can also be a very good tracker if the need ever arised. She's very quick and very vigilent and not much ever seems to get past her. She is, however, timid to form deep rooted relationships because of being abandoned. She is a little socially awkward and doesn't trust easily.
Personality: She is very cynical and most people misconstrue that as being mean.
How is your character related to the story? My character met Rosalie and Emmett on one of thier honeymoons, and is
interested in how the Cullens live.
Sample of your RP-ing skills: (2+ paragraphs)
The train stationed was almost empty. Charity had been sitting here, debating where the train should take her for what felt like hours. She noted the whistle of the trains that passed and dreamt of where they could carry her. Every so often, someone would pass close near to her and begin to check in and see if she were okay. They always seemed to come up short, though, and would find a reason to avoid her. Was it simply their subconcsious?
She couldn't wait much longer, she decided, before the old man at the ticket counter would start asking questions. She had to make a decision and fast. Where could she go? She could try Nashville, she supposed. Now that direction didn't seem quite so appealing.
She needed to go somewhere that she could see how others lived, other beings like her. Somewhere they could truly exist and not have to constantly hide and feel ashamed.
Another whistle blew and she had her answer. Had she not met two vampires who had a permanent residence somewhere in Washington? Surely they could help her.
