Jacob vs. Edward

Let me start of this debate by saying that I am completely a Jacob Black girl. Though he's not good for Bella, he may be good for any other woman in the world because he is completley and utterly determined to win love.

The whole thing with Bella started because he liked her and even though Bella had chose Edward over him, he was still fighting for her. He tried to kiss her an every oppurtunity and he would try and do the smallest things to possibly win her back. Overall, he absolutely loves and appreciates Bella.

Having to do with Edward though, he's ultimately too perfect. Jacob has flaws and that's what is so lovable about him. Edward is the perfect man in so many ways. I don't want to hear that he's not perfect, because we all know he is and that's just too unbelievable. Don't throw at me that Edward is concerned he will hurt Bella, because we all know that once he sinks his fangs into her, Bella can be changed from all of that.

Plus, I'd rather have a space heater than an icebox.

I have nothing against Jacob hes just to pushy for me. He might be good for some one else, but I just dont like him with Bella.

Edward tries his best to be the best thing for Bella and always does what she aske's. My argument isnt long. It was that. No one can hate a vampire who wont suck your blood.

Despite rp-ing a werewolf, I am totally on Team Edward. So I'm going to have to argue with you, Angela.

"He tried to kiss her an every oppurtunity"--That isn't devotion, it's sexual harassment. Bella had made it clear, time after time, that she didn't want Jacob kissing her. Then again, maybe that fist to the face was a little to subtle for him....

Not only that, he threatened to let himself get killed just so she would kiss him. I don't think blackmail is the best way to get a girl to love you. True love means willing to sacrifice your own happiness so that the one you love can be happy. Example: Bella was miserable when Jacob was trying to steal her from Edward, yet Jacob still chased after her. He was putting his own needs above hers.

He's over-dramatic and over-protective(both of which cause a crap-load of problems), but at least he cares about Bella's happiness. He left so that she could have a chance at a normal life. He was even more miserable than she was. When it comes to Bella, he is selfless. He gives every oppurtunity to turn back, because he wants her to be happy no matter what.

I'd like to make it clear that Im an either way girl.
Yes I know its untraditional ,but their both good for her.
Jacob: I love to death and he's so sweet, but has enough adventure to keep life interesting
Edward: Hes the good old fashioned lover boy who sweeps her off her feet. Hes also able to keep life interesting

If you ask me she has it good no matter what, but if I have to choose Ivwould be an Edward Girl.

I would deff have to go with Edward.
No matter what feelings Bella does have for Jacob they are not as strong as the ones she has for Edward. How do I know? She chose him! There for it would be bad for her to force her self to leave the one she truly wants for the other.
Second, Edward is just better all around. I mean The amount of love he shows for her, the selflessness, everything, he is amazing.
I will say that for adventure, spontaneity and all that Jacob wins, but does our little Bella really want a life full of that or just time to time? Because we all know Edward and the vamps. keep her life interesting enough. With out forcing them selfs on her.

I am an either way girl. I have come to the conclusion that I debate this all the time with myself. I rp as Jacob, and I really like Edward.

For Jacob: He has always been there for Bella, and one time Bella leaned on him for support. Bella and Jacob had a comfortable relationship. They don't always have to talk to each other to understand one another. He doesn't want Bella to die. Bella even said that she loved Jacob.

Against Jacob: He many be a little pushy, about being with Bella. He many want to kiss her at every turn, and a little stalkerish. Bella can't have feelings that she doesn't have. If it wasn't for the vampire Jacob wouldn't have grown so fast, or would have pushed Bella toward Jacob to begin with.

For Edward: He is always thinking of her, no matter what decision he makes, its always what is best for Bella. He wants Bella to live a normal life. He wants Bella to experience a normal life. He doesn't want to take Bella's soul because he is afraid where it might lean after they die. He is all about the protection and happiness of Bella.

Against Edward: He is over bearing, selfish, and over protective. He is always stating to Bella that he will let no one have her, because he is a selfish creature. He is controlling. He is always doing things behind Bella's back without her consulting her too.

Ok not every much, but it was right off the top of my head, So i pretty much agree with everyone.

p.s. Bella has a mind of her own, and she be able to make her own decision. If that Decision is to go with Edward. Then she should live with the consequences of her actions. If she choose Jacob then she should be happy with the decision she has made..

All comes down with i think It would be better for Bella to be with Edward.

I'm an Edward girl. ;-)

He isn't perfect, it just seems it because (as Rob Pattinson pointed out in an interview) we hear the story from Bella's point of view, and she is obsessed with him. He's extremely overprotective, controlling to a degree, and a know-it-all. But he's learning from his mistakes. He's completely dedicated to Bella's safety and happiness. He nearly sacrificed his own sanity to give her a chance at a safer lifestyle.

Jacob is great, too, don't get me wrong. But he still has a lot to learn. He manipulated her feelings, and pushed boundaries that she was uncomfortable with, which comes down to not respecting her wishes.

Honestly I'm for Jacob all the way. Edward is WAY to over protective for me and yes he is extremely sweet and caring but Jacob is too in a way. Edward protects you from everything, but Jacob knows what you can handle and tells you as much as possible. Jacob also is more adventurous. I need adventure in my life or it gets too boring. I do like that Edward is old fashioned, I think that is very sweet, but in some ways very annoying. It would be tough to deal with someone who always has to do things "the right way". Also Edward is a know it all. Not to be rude, but know it alls are very hard to deal with. Don't get me wrong if I met an Edward on the street of corse I'd be head of heels for him, but if I met a Jacob on the street I'd be even worse. In Breaking Dawn, when we got a look into Jacob's head, I finally realized how much I like him. He really cares about Bella, but he is trying his best to care about other things that are more important to him. Before I found that out I thought he was very immature, but that changed my mind completely. Yes Jacob can be a bit of a hot head sometimes, but I would rather have a hot head, then someone who never gets confrontational at all.

I'd rather be in an oven, then in a freezer.

I probably can't say exactly which one is better. I don't know what girls see and prefer in a guy, but I'll say out of everything that I've read, I can relate more to Edward's actions than Jacob's.

hmmmmm..... between Jacob and Edward. I really don't know. They both are really caring and kind. They wanted to protect the one they love. This is very hard because both of them are great but if I had to choose.........I would go to Edward more.

First off I'm a jacob girl

what I think it interesting is the reason for people not liking jacob are the reasons why I like him. I think that he is an ovall better written character then edward (no offence). The fact that he's pushy and everything only translates to be as him being more normal. He acts thought the series as his age, a 16 year old boy, who thinks and reasons like a normal 16 year old boy. It makes him more believable which makes me more drawn to him.

In eclipse he is heartbroken and confused, he tried to remind bella of what they could of had and everything because he though "Man I almost had her" and he did it the only way he knew how. Do I think his methods were correct? of course not I think that fit proves again that he is a normal kid forced to grow up too fast.

You can't compaire Jacob and Edward's maturity since Edward is over 100 years old and Jacob is 16, do you see how unfair that is? anyways long explanation short Jacob FTW.

I must say that Jacob is better for Bella.

He is kind, and caring, and it's his smile that lights up her world. Most of the things that Bella has with Edward are physical. I'm sorry, but they are.
Bella understands what Jacob is feeling, and vice versa. Jacob helped her in her time of need, and Edward is the one that caused that need.
Yes, people are going to disagree with me. But Edward bugs me. And sometimes Bella really bugs me too...

I'm team Edward in the books (so for Bella), because he's right for her and they love each other crazy. Now, if it came down to me, I would pick Jacob.
Explanation:
Edward is really over-protective and (after abusive and other terrible stuff) it's like the WORST trait a guy can have (in my opinion, again). In real life things with Jake would just be easier: he IS more human than Edward at least, and even if he's obnoxious it just shows that he's insecure, which doesn't have to be permanent.
Of course, when it comes to Bella, he was like harassing her (I hated him then) and Edward is PERFECT for her. Also in Breaking Dawn he acted so... arg! I'm so mad at him I can't even talk!!

So, since neither of them exist in real life and what I would do doesn't matter I AM TEAM EDWARD!!! wheeee

That was probably weird for a lot of ppl (me saying why I liked jake and then saying I was team ed)
