Your name: Izzy
Character's Name: Gracelynn Faith Soloman (Grace, Gray)
Gender: Female
Age: sixteen
Vampire Age n/a
Category: human
Character History: Gracelynn is one of two identical twin sisters. Her twin, Evalyn, is her best friend in the world and it’s practically unheard of to see one without the other. Grace is three minutes older than Evan and is very proud of that fact. The two of them were born in New York City to their parents, who weren’t married at the time. When the girls were thirteen their father was killed while trying to help evacuate the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. Grace took it a lot harder than Evan did; being that she was a major daddy’s girl and did just about everything with her father. They moved to Forks, their mother’s hometown, a few months later so that their maternal grandparents could help take care of them. Grace’s mother remarried when she and Evan were sixteen. She adjusted well enough to life in Forks and became very popular due to her sister insisting that they become cheerleaders. She hasn’t dated anyone since moving from New York because she’s convinced that she’ll be going back home in no time.
Character Appearance: Gracelynn is a very petite girl. She’s only about five feet two inches. She has pale skin that becomes a golden color during the summer. Her hair is a light blonde color, lighter than her sister’s that reaches to her shoulder blades. Grace has round blue sparkly eyes that light up when she laughs. She has a small dimple, which is the only distinguishing characteristic between the twins, on her left cheek.
Strengths/Weaknesses:
Strengths:
-Grace is a very kind and understanding person when she actually opens up to the people around her.
-She is very athletic.
-Grace is highly intelligent and not afraid to show it off.
Weaknesses:
-She seems a bit stand-offish at first. She’s very awkward when meeting new people and never really knows how to act, so people generally assume that she is stuck up.
-Her sarcasm and dry humor get her into trouble. Sometimes others don’t exactly understand her jokes and think that she’s actually making fun of them.
-Grace would rather sit in her room alone and read than go out and be social. She’s never really fit in with people her own age and doesn’t feel comfortable in the teenage scene.
Personality: Gracelynn is definitely the more mature of the twin sisters. Whereas Evan would rather go out and have fun, Grace has fun just sitting in silence at home. She thinks a lot more than she should and often times that gets her into trouble with the people around her. Grace has a very dry sense of humor that few truly understand. She has an old soul and is very understanding to other people’s problems. Grace is probably semi-depressed, but she’d never actually admit it. She would rather work through other people’s problems before even thinking of her own. She reads a lot, mostly older literature. She loves Jane Austen and believes that one day her own Mr. Darcy will come along and sweep her off her feet. Her belief in true love is the only naïve, juvenile thing Grace will allow herself to have. At seventeen she thinks more about her future than anyone else. She enjoys acting and singing, though not nearly as much as her sister. She’d rather be on stage for the thrill of being someone else for a few moments than for the spotlight. Grace is a cheerleader at FHS, but only because her sister forced her to tryout. If she had it her own way she wouldn’t be involved with anything at school. Unfortunately, Evan is very convincing. Grace is also a member of the Student Council, Drama Club, Show Choir, and one of the top ten students in her class.
How is your character related to the story? Grace is a student at Forks High School and in the same class as Bella and Edward. She also spends a bit of time at the beach and knows quite a few of the werewolves in La Push, although she doesn’t know the big secret of the area.
Sample of your RP-ing skills:
Gracelynn wasn’t exactly what you’d call happy. Her sister had come into her room at four fourty-five and told her to get dressed. By five-thirty they were in the car and on their way to wherever it was Evan was taking them. Grace had learned long ago never to question her sister when she got an idea. After spending an entire day in a shopping mall with her twin, Grace was ready to fall over and die. It turned out that Evan woke her sister up that early so that they could drive all the way to Seattle and be there in time for the mall to open. Grace didn’t complain, though, because she understood why they were there. Ever since their father died, Evan would wake up early in the morning on the weekend and go shopping for an entire day. It was random and Grace never knew when it was going to happen, but it was her sister’s way of grieving.
At least Evan was grieving. Grace hadn’t cried in the four years that had passed since that day. Sure, she felt sadness, but she couldn’t show it. Evan and their mother needed her to be strong for them, so that’s exactly what she did. Crying showed weakness and she couldn’t afford to be weak. Instead, she sucked it in and became numb. The only time Gracelynn ever showed emotion was when she was on these shopping adventures with her sister, because even though she was forcing herself to be strong for Evan, she knew that her twin could see through the façade.
By midday they were taking a break at a small café near the mall. Grace glanced down at the menu and chewed on her lip, trying to decide what she was going to order. Evan was sitting across the table from her, looking like her mirror image only in a different outfit. Grace nodded, pretending like she understood what her twin sister was saying, but the truth of the matter was that she wasn’t paying any attention to Evan at all. Instead, she was glancing between her menu and the very attractive man sitting a few tables down from them. He’d caught her stare more than once, but only ever smirked in reply. Grace knew that his gaze hadn’t left her since she looked up at him the first time and it unnerved her a bit. She glanced up again and sure enough a pair of bright blue eyes were staring back into her own. She blushed a bit and averted her gaze back down to her menu.
