Sample of your RP-ing skills: ((Flashback))
The sun beat down heavily upon his back, as August rolled in, the summer heat soaking up the small drops of moisture that splattered the ground. His muscels strained with each movement, as he tossed a shovel full of dirt into the wheel burrow, in a vain attempt to clean out the farm. Reaching up to swipe a hand across his brow, Eric laughed up through squinted eyes at the blazing sun, hoping for just the smallest drop of rain.
((Present))
Funny how things worked out. The old saying ' be careful what you wish for ' was still true to this day, as Eric sat in the front seat of his truck, windshield whipers swiping across the window as rain drops pounded against it endlessly. He yearned for just a small break in the grey looming clouds; a small ray of sunshine to make it feel less like he'd stepped into an alien planet, while memories flashed before his eyes of his days in the Texas heat. Wishing for that one small drop of rain to reach him. Now it seemed as if the rain would never end, the sun left behind along with all he'd ever known.
It's was because of her. Eric could never forget why he was on this road now, nor the face seared into his mind.
