Your name: Rowen
Character's Name: McKinley Peterson (Kin, Kinley, McKi)
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Category: Human
Character History: McKinley was born in raised in the little town of Forks, Washington. She grew up with her parents and her older sister, Zadie. Her father is the assistant coach of Forks football team, so with all that glory comes her constant fight for approval. She was raised to believe that perfection was the goal, anything less was failure. She's participated in dance, soccer, volleyball, club swimming, rugby, and softball. Never has she even thought that there was something weird going on in the town. As a kid she spent a lot of time with her sister Zadie and not much time with her parents. Striving to achieve perfection takes up a lot of time and energy, leaving little for family bonding.
Character Appearance: Kinley is a little below average in most everything. She has olive toned skin complemented with light, yellow-blonde hair. Her eyes are hazel, sometimes more green and other times more brown. She has always had a fit build, mostly from sports and hard work.
Strengths/Weaknesses:
Weaknesses:
~Hot Tempered- Sometimes the littlest things can set her off.
~Dyslexia and ADD- Kinley has trouble reading letters and numbers which creates problems in achieving the perfection expected. Not only that, she also has trouble focusing on anything for extended periods of time.
~Self Esteem- While Kinley pretends to be the happiest, prettiest, smartest person in the room, she never actually feels that way. So used to even the best of her work being seen as just not good enough, that's how she almost always feels about herself.
Strenghts:
~Slight of Hand- Kinley can pick-pocket just about any one at the right moment. She used to play around with it but now she just does it to gain personal feelings of greatness.
~Intelligence: Even with her dyslexia and ADD, given the right learning environment, Kinley can learn quickly and gracefully. She is one of those people that remembers everything, useful and not.
~Her ability to love- Never has Kinley had a problem seeing the good in a person. As soon as that hot-tempered side of herself cools down, she falls in love with a who a person really is.
Personality: McKinley can be quite the character at times.
Raised to expect perfection, her standards can sometimes be set high which often leads to disappointment with herself and things around her. She can be seen as a material girl simply because all of her life she has always gotten what she wanted, always been spoiled. As she got older she learned to use it to her advantage, gaining the life that made others think she was happy when really she was quite miserable.
McKinley was raised to love sports and school, but really that's just what her parents see. She actually hates sports, including cheer leading which she is currently a part of. She hates it more than being the fake girl she is. Really, her passion is music. She plays several instruments and aspires to one day make music for everyone to hear.
How is your character related to the story? McKinley was born in raised in Forks, bound to be a part of the shenanigans at some point. Her sister is imprinted on and the secret isn't kept long to herself, letting Kinley in on the world she had always hoped was real.
Sample of your RP-ing skills:
McKinley stared at her sister in awe. Did she really just hear what she thought she heard? Yea, right. That made a whole lot of sense now did it? Werewolves, vampire, they were creatures of myths. Creatures that couldn't exist outside of fairy tails and children's books. It was a world that Kinley could hardly imagine. But also a world that Kinley longed for.
Maybe there was something out there for her after all, something that could teach her to be what she wants to be instead of what her parents' expect her to be. It was a dream to her, a longing she was afraid to get her hopes up for. But that part of her that wanted nothing more then to break out a be who she was couldn't contain her excitement.
"Okay, okay. I believe you." She said, still kind of in shock. "But Zadie, if I find out you're lying, I'll kill you." She was only half serious about that. Kill her? No. Severely injure her? Probably. "Now tell me absolutely everything." She said, changing her position, in for a long story that would turn her life upside down.
