Your name: Britt
Character's Name: Melancholy
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Vampire Age 16
Category: Veggie Vampire
Character History: Mel is the oldest of four children. When she was five, her father, in an intoxicated rage, tried to strangle her to death. Her mother called the police, however, and she was spared. Her father went to jail and died. After this incident, Mel grew up in a fairly stable home with her mother and three brothers. Mel was always slightly disturbed after this incident. This came out in her incurable depression. She managed to push through to succeed both in school and band. The summer before her junior year, she was told that she would be the drum captain. That same summer, however, she was bitten. One night after a grueling band practice, she was alone in the parking lot, locking up the drum room when the new drum teacher intern came up behind her. He asked for her keys. As she handed them to him, he grabbed her by the arm and bit her wrist. He moved her by the dumpsters and left her to change. When she awoke, she ran to the rainiest place she could think of: Washington. While she felt the intense hunger, she managed not to eat anyone or anything until she arrived in Washington, where she was forced to feast on a stray dog. She felt extremely guilty about it, and to this day, she refuses to eat unless she absolutely has to because of her guilty conscience.
Character Appearance: Mel is approximately 4'11" and weighs about 90 pounds. She has brown hair and intensely blue eyes. She has a bite scar on the inside of her left wrist. She wears a guitar pick on a brown leather cord around her neck.
Strengths/Weaknesses: Strengths - quick (both in speed and wit); book smart; musically gifted, especially on the drums; perseverent; strong willed. Weaknesses- too sarcastic on occasion; pessimistic (though she considers herself to be more realistic); usually depressed; doesn't eat as often as she should because she feels guilty about killing of any sort; guilty conscience.
Personality: As stated before, Mel suffers from incurable depression. It bleeds into a lot of her personality both in the aura she gives off and the way she interacts with others. She does not trust people, which is understandable given the incident with her father. She is a loner, but not because she does not like to be around people; she just has a difficult time connecting with others due to fear. She can generally be found with her nose in a book of some sort and with a pair of drumsticks somewhere on her person. On average, Mel reads 800 pages a day. She can also retain most anything that she reads, but she loves rereading.
How is your character related to the story? Mel enrolled at Forks high school when she arrived in Washington. Her intensely negative feelings caught Jasper's attention immediately. He tried to feed her more positive feelings, but she noticed immediately. They are friends now.
Sample of your RP-ing skills:
The rain makes me miss my drums. I was set up to be drum captain, but no. That jerk and a half ruined my life. But whatever. I have no life now. Only a forever-long death that will never end.
How many times is Mr. Forester going to go over this equation? No body cares, Mr. F.
Tap. Tap. Tap. Tap. Tippity-tippity-tippity-tap-tap=tippity tap.
People are staring. Guess I should stop tapping the beat of the rain out on my desk with my pen...
