The inevitable had happened. Bella had gotten so bored and so lonely sitting around Charlie's that she had one option. It was time to get out and learn a little more about the town called Forks. After a long, hot shower and a few chapters of the most recent novel she'd gotten herself into, she was dressed and ready to go. She decided it wouldn't be too hard to park her truck outside of the library and walk around from there. So that's exactly what she did. She drove the speed limit and parked outside the only place in town she'd actually explored. The library may have been a sorry attempt at storing books, but it was something. She got out the car and zipped her jacket a little tighter. She was still getting used to the cold compared to her home in Arizona. It wasn't a big deal, though. She tried not to complain about too much. She walked slowly through town, trying to remember her way around. She knew it wouldn't take long to memorize the town. It was small and pretty easy to navigate. It had a certain charm to it. While a lot of the time people still responded to her with looks of interest and curiosity, they were generally getting use to the new girl. She was slowly becoming part of the town. After a while of walking, she decided to pull out the list her dad had given her for the grocery store. It would be an easy trip, she just needed to figure out where exactly the grocery store was. www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=70278042

It was late in the afternoon, and a Saturday. The best one so far, as far as Alana was concerned. Most kids looked forward to the weekends to get a break from school, unless you happened to have a job on top of everything that sucked away every. Single. Weekend. When Alana had first found her part time job, she hadn't counted on that little small fact. All she'd been able to think about was the lack of dust in her wallet, and not asking her dad for everything anymore. Oh and that new car she was saving up for, so again she wouldn't have to beg dad to use the family car, which her chances were very slim since he needed it more for work. True enough she was able to do more with her job. Buy the things she needed, and- cough- some things she could've done without but didn't want to. However. Her life seemed to have blurred into nothing but work and school. Her mornings were spent in classes trying not to doze off in the middle of lessons when the lack of sleep she suffered caught up with her. Trying being the key word. Most of the time she failed, and teachers of course were more than happy to call her out for it. Afternoons were spent forcing down a quick snack before work, then running for the bus- for now, to get to work on time. And evenings were spent in the library catching up on the pile of homework that never seemed to ease up no matter how how she tried. Yep. This was the life of Alana Merez. She barely even had time to talk to friends in her busy schedule. She couldn't say she didn't mind feeling like her brain was about to explode from information overload, or coming home with aching feet and passing out from exhaustion. But it was nice feeling a bit more independent. It was also nice being able to buy her own things, and lighten the load on her dads shoulders. But back to why this Saturday was the best one so far. Simple. It was her day off. Sure there was a pile of homework still waiting for her when she got back, but Alana had gotten to sleep in, then woke up to breakfast cooking. Good ole' dad had come through and make a meal of eggs, toast, bacon and hash browns. Alana had been so grateful she couldn't even be bothered there wasn't anything healthy on the table, often strict with her dad about at least eating something with fruit and veggies to keep his heart in good condition. Personally she was a sugar addict. Always munching on some type of candy bar- in fact she was eating one right at this very moment. But Alana figured she was young, and her heart was beating nice and strong. She also danced as a hobby. That had to count for something right? Every since she'd lost her mom, and it was just the two of them she was very protective of her dad. Always nagging him about keeping the right diet, and doing everything around the house: cleaning, cooking, laundry you name it. He was the only parent she had left, and four years after her mothers passing it was still fresh on her heart. She'd learned to cope maybe by putting so much energy into looking out for her dad. Anyhow. After filling the black hole that was her stomach, and taking a quick shower, Alana found herself taking a walk. Filled with her usual energy that had been drained by work lately, she walked with a perk in her steps along the graveled side walk. She was in the Forks area today, just walking aimlessly. Ipod on blareing Pink, when she bumped into someone knocking her candy bar right out of her hands. "Oh!" Barely keeping her balance, her hands shot out to steady the other person automatically. "Crap! I'm sorry!" www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=60474841
