Your name: Lita
Character's name: Riley Rogers
Age: 17
Vampire Age: N/A
Category: Human for now.
Character History: She didn’t have the horrid childhood others claim to have had, but hers wasn’t all cherry blossoms and rainbows either. Her father was a ‘,man-whore’, and she had only seen him once in her lifetime and doesn’t bother to see him again. And her mother was one of those women who worried too damn much about how her daughter was going to grow up to be. Often, Riley would have bibles tossed into her lap, and can recall the day she took a cigarette and burned the pages. She was never one to believe in a invisible man, why do you think she isn’t bothered by the whole ghost subject?
She was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma until she was about 12 where she ran away from home and traveled to Apache. It wasn’t too far when you already knew how to steal vehicles and illegally drove them. Riley hung out with a lot of bad influences, and practiced when her mother had taken her daily dose of pills and was knocked out on the sofa.
She hung out with a bad crowd, getting her first tattoo when she was fourteen on her pelvis of a small octopus, representing her mother and how she felt she was like whenever she tried to get Riley to read that book, a octopus trying to catch Riley in her tentacles… give her a break. But later on when she was almost sixteen, she added another tattoo above her breast and included things like fish which represents her friends and a mermaid which represents herself. F.Y.I. the ocean is her life, and if she could stop herself from the drinking and the smoking, she’d try and take up being a professional swimmer or working in a marine aquarium.
She is a underage drinker, but doesn’t give a crap about the law to be honest. She has already stolen, gotten drunk, she has tried drugs a few times and couldn’t get into it, and she had gotten into a brutal fight at a local park that caused the girl to have eighteen stitches on her cheek. For being such a small person, weighing only about 115 lbs, she definitely knows the weaknesses of those around her. Learning from no one better than from her neighbor Tommy, whom she called her best friend.
He died in a motorcycle accident, and that is one of the main reasons she likes to keep to herself. Being close to people has always made her happy, but she always ends up getting disappointed at the end. So now her attitude is why bother? Tommy was her life, possibly her future, and now he’s gone. Riley was stuck in the world alone with her two dogs, a husky and a pug, and her half-sister Lita whom she had gotten a call from.
She had no idea Lita was still alive, and when she had received the call for Riley to come and live with her, it surprised the hell out of her. She did accept however, taking her two dogs and what little she had with her to the lake louse Lita owned.
Her past isn’t particularly clear to her, all she can really remember is having no father, a crazy mother, a best friend whom left her in the world alone, and doing a bunch of illegal things. Jeez… what has this world come to?
Character Appearance: Riley has very long, thick, light brown hair that travels down to her waist. She has a dark-ish complexion since she is part cherokee, and will often where symbols on her clothing to express her heritage. She has chocolate brown eyes, and full pink lips. And she stands at about five foot six, and weighing in at 115 pounds.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
Strengths/Weaknesses:
Strengths//
• She’s strong willed. And is one that would usually follow the right path if it was for an important cause.
• She’s very calm in incredibly tense situations. She never loses her cool, even if it’s a life or death situation. You’ll find her taking a deep breath, closing her eyes, and figuring out the best solution when she’s not drunk.
• Growing up in a place like Riley did, she has learned to become very independent. She doesn’t depend on people to do things for her, in fact, she despises it.
• She has determination, and tons of it. Nothing ever gets in the way of her and her desired goal.
Weaknesses//
• Anything to do with alcohol and cigarettes are considered her weak points. No, she isn’t some super addict, but she is one that can’t stand not having a good time. Want to find Sommer? Head for the bar!
• Like everyone else mostly, animals hit a weak spot in her heart. She actually owns two dogs, and couldn’t stand leaving them. She is a quiet girl who keeps to herself, taking a smoke every once in a while in her backyard, but when she needs to let her thoughts be said… she will run to one of the two dogs she has.
• In tense situations, she likes to think about doing. But when drunk, she has a problem with keeping her mouth shut. She likes to instigate people, and it’s usually best if someone is there to put her on a leash and monitor how much she drinks.
• Curiosity killed the cat, and sooner or later it will kill Riley. She isn’t scared of anything as she likes to say. Not Big Foot, The Loch Ness Monster, ghosts, bugs, nothing. And whenever she hears or sees something out of this world…she usually shrugs and asks any questions that pop into her mind.
Personality: Riley is one to not take crap from anyone, and if someone tries to, she’d either shrug and ignore them or let her voice be known if drunk enough. Speaking of drinking, she loves to do it for the simple fact she isn’t herself. She’s a total different person, and she doesn’t have to worry about any responsibilities in the time being. Smoking is something she does also when she wants to clear her mind, which isn’t a lot. Riley is one of those girls that likes to keep all her problems inside… and no the problems won’t overflow and cause her to become a b*tch because she has little to worry about. Riley is independent, not depending on anyone else in the world; she finds that incredibly weak of a person. She’s not as stubborn as her half-sister Lita, she’s actually very lenient and others would be able to pick up her foot once she stomps it.
She’s curious, and loves being so. The reactions of other people around ghosts or whatever amuse her. And she loves proving those around her that this innocent looking woman has a pair of balls, invisible of course. She doesn’t like sympathy from other people, and doesn’t give it out too much. It’s life, which was suppose to be full of problems not full of wonder and miracles. Depending on if you want to be a coward and complain about everything that’s thrown at you, on depending on whether you grow up and face what’s down the road, Riley will have to still warm up to you.
How is your character related to the story? Riley got a call from a family member she hadn’t spoken to since they were little girls, and she offered her a place at her house. Now she stays with her half-sister, Lita.
Sample of your RP-ing skills: This is a post of one of my recent characters…
Brown-Green hazel eyes left those of a famous model as she heard the ground begin to rumble beneath her feet. It was as if the ground itself was screaming for Lita to stop the tree from being torn away from it's nature... but then again, what could Lita possibly do? She was human. And the dark man who was trying to commit murder on mother nature was vampire. The only thing she had that would be a weakness for this vampire would be her fresh, scarlet blood flowing through her veins. And even that could get her killed or changed if he decided to.
She kept her eyes on the man as he swung the dead tree toward the werewolf, doing his best to hit her. And if that didn't seem to work he had another trick up his sleeve. Pulling out a few daggers from his pocket, Lita's eyes widened, and all she could do was look back to Jace with frightened eyes, and back to the fighting duo. "No!" She screamed to the vampire half a second late too late. Her stomach clentched tight as the wolf was stabbed in the side, unknowingly. Well, that's what Lita had thought anyways, who wouldn't notice a stab in the side? Unless being a wolf gave you some secret power where you were immune to all pain. But she doubted that.
Listen, you jerk, you touch Lita, you will regret it. Now me on the other hand, you can mess with, just not her. Understand? Came Jace's voice, and she immedietly snapped her head to read his face. There was a mixture of emotions across his face, but the most noticable ones were fear and bravery. His face showed fear, but his voice held bravery. "Jace!" Was all she managed to get out before he continued to threaten the vampire. Honestly, what was he thinking? In just a second the dark man could break Jace in half, and he could do so with Lita even quicker. By the way smart one, there's 6.4 billion. Get your numbers correct. China has 1/3 of the worlds population, go there and pick your fights. He continued, and Lita shook her head to herself while looking at the dirt in front of her. She really had no clue of what to say.
The wolf jumped towards Jace and herself, and Lita stood up on her feet, standing her ground, knowing the wolf wouldn't harm either one of them. She did however nudge them both so they could hurry up and get a move on. But leaving her friends behind was never an option for Lita. She didn't even know why she was calling this wolf a friend in the first place, she had no idea who it was. And the only reason she knew it was a girl was because she had no pride and glory hanging from below, plus she had the wolf features a girl would have... you could always tell.
The wolf turned around to face the vampire, and Lita turned to face Jace who she just realized was lying on the ground. She blinked her eyes and ran to Jace's side, kneeling on her knees, and placing her hands on his chest. "Jace, you have to get up!" She cried, unknowing if he could hear her or not.
Lita was a very weak girl, and knew she didn't have it in her to take him back to her place. She looked back at the wolf for a short glance, then to the vampire, then back at Jace. The only face being who was able to carry Jace would be the wolf, and she was a bit... in use at the moment. Unless Lita thought up of a way to distract the vampire while the wolf got Jace out of the way, then she would deal without thought.
Lita bent over to kiss Jace on the cheek and stood up to her feet, staring all around her at something she could use to distract. Something shiny caught her eye, lying on the ground just behind the vampire. Lita bit down on her lip, feeling a tear trickle down her cheek as she realized how stupid she was. No that wasn't the reason for her crying at all...she just...felt like crying. But now wasn't the time.
She quietly took her steps around Jace and hid behind the bushes mother nature provided, her eyes on the dagger lying on the ground vacant. She was ducked down a bit so she could stay hidden more, and hoped the wolf was doing a well enough job at distracting the dark man. She picked up her pace toward the dagger, her heart beating like a ton of drummers boys hitting a drum. And when she was just a few feet from the dagger, she neglected the idea of how she was going to get it. All she managed to think of was how to get close.
"Uhmm...shit!" Came out of her mouth as she mentally smacked herself and eyes the dagger lying behind the man. She took a step out into the open and suddenly her mind to her to do otherwise. Her feet began to move quicker, and her heart began to thumb louder. She was running for the dagger like an idiot. The upside was that it was only a few feet away, nothing she couldn't handle if the dark man was human. Bit of course with her luck, he wasn't.
